The goal of yoga is yoga itself. Union itself of the separate, egoic self and the Real Self. It is a process of Self-realization through awareness and direct experience of the core of our being. As humans, we are manifesting outward, step by step, from our Real Self to the outer world, where the subtler consciousness projects evermore outward that we forget those subtler levels, leading to feelings of disconnection. This disconnection can negatively impact our health and well-being, our relationships, and how we treat the world.
To restore balance, it is crucial to rediscover yoga’s ancient purpose – to remind us of our potential, our shared humanity, and what binds us together. We do this by reconnecting with our physical selves through sensation, and acknowledging both our internal and external experiences as a whole.
