Mindfulness is a friendly, non-judging, allowing, moment-to-moment awareness. It is cultivated by purposely paying attention to things we ordinarily never give a moment’s thought to. We settle the mind on a focal point that is decidedly in the here and now, with the goal of experiencing growth in our capacity to be present with clarity and openness.
By regular daily practice, the chattering, unruly mind gradually becomes calmer and clearer. The way our mind works becomes less confusing to us and we begin to understand the habits of the mind that hold us back from happiness and freedom. We become kinder to ourselves and those around us.
