BOUTIQUE CLASSES

THE FIVE LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE

BEGINNER SERIES

The way we move on the SUP reveals the strategies we use to stabilize our core during daily activities.

In AY Basics, we are able to correct common compensations one may have adopted unconsciously, and teach optimal core stabilization strategies to improve posture and kinesthesia.

Move with greater ease and lessen the likelihood of developing compensatory strategies that lead to tightness, dysfunction, and eventually pain.

INTERMEDIATE SERIES

This high-intensity, low-impact class is done either on the SUP or the SB while using an aqua ball. We combine the movements of Yoga, Pilates and Functional Training to stabilize the joints and strengthen the legs, arms & core – specifically the back & side body, while building endurance.

Build total-body strength and stamina in this dynamic class. Prepare to sweat from the deep muscle burn, get an endorphin high and a centered mind after class.

This class prepares you for the powerful and higher intensity practices of AY Sport.

AY Flow is an alternative therapeutic vinyasa krama sequence that is accessible to students of all levels and traditions. This class will help you rebalance energetically, psychologically, and physically.

It focuses on the pliancy of the shoulders, upper back, hips, groin, lower spine and abdomen, which will feel awake and alive after moving gently through the postures. It also takes pressure off the neck, shoulders and wrists.

As a softer and gentler AY Practice, this yin-yang class provides a balance to the more powerful AY Firma class. By practicing this alternative sequence regularly, you can decrease the likelihood of strain and overuse injury, and encourage the development of your intuitive faculty within your own yoga practice.

AY Nidra is our SUP Meditation class that bridges the gap between the body and the mind. Done while lying down, it relaxes the nervous system and prepares you for meditation.

It is a guided and passive somatic meditation practice that rejuvenates the body and the brain, fights fatigue, reduces anxiety and lowers high-stress levels.

It also increases mind and body awareness, improves focus and concentration, bolsters memory, purges negative and unnecessary thoughts, and improves the nervous system response.

ADVANCED SERIES

AY Sport is a high-intensity, high-impact instability AY Practice that develops dynamic stability, variability of movement, and motor learning to improve athletic performance.

Using the SUP (or SB) and aqua bag in a more powerful way improves adaptability, robustness and resiliency, and boosts aerobic and anaerobic capacities.

By activating co-contraction for motor control (instead of proprioception), it activates the unconscious decentral control of stability that is required, not only in sports activities, but also in unexpected real life perturbations.

By improving dynamic stability, motor variability and learning, as well as athletic efficiency and robustnes, it also decreases the chances of getting injured.

AY Restore is intended for recovery and healing of chronic pain. It is perfect to do after an injury or to switch out of a stressful state and into our parasympathetic nervous system.

Using somatic explorations and restorative SUP Yoga postures, it targets specific areas of the body where it can work deeply to allow for muscular release and relaxation throughout that area.

The intention is to let go of the need to set a goal or push yourself, and instead focus on supporting the body where it’s at to relax and allow for healing/restoring energy.

AY Sati is our seated mindfulness meditation that is an active training of the mind that requires effort, commitment and complete concentration. Practitioners learn how to draw their attention to a single point of focus in order to reach a meditative state.

In contrast to AY Nidra, this class is not practiced for relaxation but rather to enter a highly conscious state where spiritual growth and awareness can begin.

Delving below the surface of the mind allows us to dig up deep-rooted samskaras and connect with our truest, most authentic Self.

LIFE SERIES

AY Seva is about how you can integrate your AY Practice into your daily life and relationships.

Afterall, Aquanimous Yoga is a way of life.
